Funk and soul icon Maceo Parker is still smartly dressed and brings his infectious music by wish live. The alto saxophonist played in the past with such luminaries as Prince, James Brown, Bootsy Collins and Ray Charles. On his own performances, he navigates between James Brown's' 60s soul and George Clinton's freaky funk and touches of jazz and hip hop.
Maceo Parker (1943) is a living proof that funk keeps people young. He used to be an essential part of the engine that James Brown as swinging did bounce around the stage. The unmistakable sound of Maceo was played on big hits like Papa's got a brand new bag, and I feel good. He helped build the alternative funk empire of George Clinton and Bootsy Collins, and he played with artists such as Ray Charles, Prince and Red Hot Chili Peppers in recent decades.
