susan kare’s designs have become an integral part
of the computer culture.
she is a 2001 recipient of the chrysler design award.
kare, who’s office is based in san francisco,
designed most of the distinctive icons, typefaces and
other graphic elements that gave the original
macintosh computer its characteristic appearance.
some of her most famous icons
the trash can (for discarding files),
the watch (which means the computer is busy and
can't be used), and the portrait of a computer with
a sly mona lisa smile (which means the machine is
working).

Claire Harvey
photography by Gert Jan van Rooij
Claire Harvey's work consists of solitary figures engaged in day to day activities. It is amazing to see how well she had captured the mood of the subjects in her work considering how small the pieces were. The size, spacing, and subject matter of her work had an amazing ability to block out all the 'noise' of the exhibition.

Medalliwood
MSSS’s “Medallic marathon” continues in 2011. Professor Bogomil choose this humorous title for the new 2011 Medal Project. The project consists of seven medallic art sessions – from February to May and from October to December. Although the participants in the project enjoy full freedom of choice of subject, materials and techniques, each session has its own theme, setting a framework of particular universal problems. The idea is for each of the seven medallic sessions, and respectively exhibitions, to have an atmosphere of its own. Furthermore, different approaches to and interpretations of the same subject are of great interest to students. Via: Panayot Panayotov-Paneto (BG)

DigiLomo Camera
The DigiLomo Camera takes lo-fidelity images with lots of blurring, out of focus, shallow depth field and color aberrations/light leaks... but that was the whole purpose on the project. We weren't aiming for megapixel count or image sharpness; what we wanted was a nostalgic feel, almost like a polaroid picture, where you never now what you are going to get.

House B - complex "Terra Panonica"
The village lies Mokrin in the Serbian province of Vojvodina, on the border with Romania. A young group of architects built here a residential building built in 1925 into a home for theater performances, concerts and artists' workshops. The building is part of an old farm, which consists of several houses. By 2013, the 3.5-acre complex will be extensively renovated and in the Tourism and Cultural Center "Terra Panonica" converted. As the former home is to give all young artists for their work space.
